Martha Jane Bailey of Kennett Square
Martha Jane Bailey, of Kennett Square, formerly of Toughkenamon, peacefully entered heavenly rest on April 21, 2012. She was the wife of Earl Bailey, who passed away in 1966, and with whom she shared 15 years of marriage. She was born in West Chester on April 13, 1920, the daughter of the late George and Mary Nelson Gallagher. Martha was a lifetime resident of Kennett Square area. She was an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5467. Martha was employed by the NVF Company in Kennett Square for 43 years, retiring in 1985. Martha, Mottie Mott as she was affectionately called, was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. She leaves to cherish her memory a dedicated daughter, Mary Lou Fieni, and her husband Anthony "Junior" of Kennett Square; a son, Joseph Sexton, and his wife Patricia of Kennett Square; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandson; one sister, Bertha Fabucci of Newark, Del.; two step-brothers, Harvey Settles of Harrington, Del. and Theodore Hawkins of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by, two sisters, Margaret Allaband and Virginia Gallagher, and one brother, David Detter. The family would like to thank Michelle Oakley at Regal Height for the special care she gave Martha Jane, during her time there. Please join us in celebrating the life of Martha Bailey, from 6 to 8 on Sunday evening, April 29, and again from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, April 30, at the Kuzo and Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, (Phone: 610-444-4116) . Her funeral service will follow at 12 noon. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square.
